The Best Barbershop in Shelbyville. Mr Tipton and his son Gary, whom i have dubbed Junior, are great. I have been attending this barbershop for more that 10 years. They ate very open to different types of political, religious, and business conversations. Mr Tipton was a veteran. He is a Christian man. I have a great deal of respect for Mr Tipton. Both ate excellent Barbers. You could not as for better Gentleman. They ate both very patriotic to our country and city. The ONLY barber shop in town. Old school guys that have been lowering ears for a while I suspect, so they're good at it! They just need to do a dust off afterwards.....stray hairs here and there at the end. Great prices!

Close to home, convenient, and open at 8am on a Saturday morning... all of these things make Tipton's Barber Shop my husband's new choice for a haircut! Since arriving in Kentucky a little over a year ago, my husband has gotten haircuts in Louisville, Lexington, and many places in between. Some very posh and High End, some very, very not! And while we have found an excellent Shop in Lexington, that we both enjoy visiting, it's just a bit too far to travel to regularly... So, hubs finally decided to give Tipton's a try... and so far, so good! He's come away liking his haircuts and the price is right! It's a small shop... kind of a good old boy shop... very much your old time, small town kind of Barber Shop. There is a small waiting area that can fill up quickly if you don't get there first thing in the morning and two Barbers. The gentlemen that run the place are friendly, and my husband gets a good cut, so that's pretty much what matters in my book! My only issue, and it is a gripe that I have had even in higher end shops across Kentucky, is cleanliness. They really need to sweep up more often and run a vacuum over their mats, and such. But, this isn't a salon, it is a Barbershop... and at the end of the day, if my husband's happy with his haircut I'm happy!
