“I had two places to visit in the Mount Kenton Cemetery. First, Vice President Alben W. Barkley, 35th vice president of the United States under Harry S. Truman. He served from 1949 to 1953 an passed in 1956. You'll find that he has a simple plot here in the cemetery, located on Barkley Road. Note my photograph with the businesses on Lone Oak and pay tribute to this American. Second, spot the seven columns that serve as a historical monument for a since destroyed building. The marker here reads, "These columns are from the old federal building in Paducah and completed in 1885, demolished in 1937. Stored at Mt. Kenton until 1989 when erected by cemetery through courtesy of Reynolds Monument Co." They are located in the west corner of the cemetery and tower above the regular tombstones. I've never seen a building's burial spot before, so this was unique. The cemetery is in excellent condition with paved roads that are easy to drive though only single-file. Keep an eye out for any groundskeeper vehicles that might be blocking the road ahead so that you don't have to do a long reverse back to an intersection. “My review is concerning Sasha Story who helped us through Tribute Monuments in selecting a gravesite marker for my wife and I, she was so helpful in giving us a wide range of options and costs as well as helping in the design of our marker. We had done our homework and contacted other providers and her professionalism and knowledge exceeded all others. My mother had recently passed and she had everything preplanned which made my job easier so we decided to do the same and not burden family when our time comes. Thank you Sasha!“
“Got back a soon as they could, they do cremate animals on the weekend, the Paducah crematory answering service gave the wrong info“
