“My family owns a wildlife management business called Animal Ridders. Yesterday a woman called us in a frantic State thinking we were an animal rescue. She was sobbing her eyes out telling us how no one would help her. She had a 15 month old pitbull that had swallowed a foreign object 8 days prior and was on the verge of death. She went to Jefferson Animal hospital and they charged her $250 for the examination would not even give her an x-ray and simply sent her home with nausea medicine and told her to force feed the animal. This is the worst thing you could do for something with an abdominal obstruction. The only other thing they offer to do for her was to euthanize it. Her and her husband share one vehicle and he works full-time. We got in my mother's personal car drove to Crestwood to her apartment and loaded her dog up. We stopped by VSP in Middletown first and though they were cordial they were not much help but they did recommend Hopewell Animal Hospital on Taylorsville rd. We arrived there 7 minutes before they closed. The main veterinarian came out and said why does that dog looks so sad. I explained that he had an abdominal obstruction that had been there for 8 days and about the experience with Jefferson Animal Hospital. The owner was so desperate to save the dog and told them that she would surrender the animal if it meant that he could get the care he needed. The veterinarian asked if he was good with children and other animals. The owner explained to her that he was a gentle baby without a mean bone in his body. The vet got down on her hands and knees in front of the dog and in as much pain as he was he started licking and kissing her face and she instantly decided right then that dog was not going to die today. He was x-rayed and they found a large extension cord in his intestines and he was on the operating table within 30 minutes of us arriving there. I am happy to say I called this morning and he survived the surgery and is doing very well. I cannot say enough good things about the compassionate staff at Hopewell Animal Hospital. They completely covered the cost on this multi-thousand dollar surgery. Other places quoted five to eight thousand dollars. They understand that sometimes you cannot just put a dollar figure on the life. I encourage anyone who is able and willing to please donate to this business. Their staff are heroes!“

“I love this place. The vet really listens to my concerns about medication side effects and is willing to work with me on holistic avenues of treatment. The staff is always very nice and the wait time is short. I don’t feel like they look at me and see dollar signs as soon as I walk in the door like a lot of other veterinarians around the area. They always treat me and my dog kindly and I never feel like they are trying to get rid of me or that they don’t want to listen to me.“

“We had an urgent need to put our sweet kitty to sleep. She had lost so much weight, was not eating or drinking, and we had no clue why. Just knew she was suffering. Their price was very reasonable, and our vet was so kind and knowledgeable. She told us the why. Without us knowing, her liver had given up ?. The vet gave us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes. So hard, but they didn't rush us. I will keep them in mind for all of our vet needs.“

“I had a great experience here! All of the staff was very friendly to both me and my dog, Albee. The vet, I did not catch her name, was very thorough and even informed me that the medication my dog needed was on the more expensive side so that I wasn't blindsided and could make my decision beforehand. When I left, I felt all of my questions were answered, and my concerns were heard. 10/10 would recommend.“

“I was getting a little nervous because of how long it was taking not because I thought our dog was in danger but because it normally doesn't take that long. The owner kindly explained why and honestly went over board to get his dry skin off. I am a small business owner as well and unfortunately problems do arise throughout the day and delays happen it just part of it, then throw in kids being there in the mix which I also have to take mine to work some days. Some people just need to learn patience. Our dog looks great! And the owner was very nice. We will be back!“

“This was my first visit to this clinic. I was impressed first by separate areas for cats and dogs. The staff was very friendly. The veterinarian was great and my cat is much better now. I'm going to make this my regular veterinarian. Great experience. Thank you for taking such good care of my baby.“

“My family used Shively Animal Hospital for years, hated that place! Always a Long wait, Dr MaryJane Fush and the rest of her staff being rude as humanly possible. Absolutely ZERO compassion for the animals. THANK GOD I found Bannon Woods Veterinarian Hospital!!! Every member of their staff, from the receptionist to the Vet's themselves were very informative and friendly. Even without an appointment, these wonderful people were able to see both my dogs and the prices were better than Shively Animal Hospital also. Better service, Better Care, I'm Never going back to Shively ever again! Bannon Woods has earned my services from this day forward! Just make sure you make an appointment first. I'll remember that myself next time. I am highly grateful for them taking me anyways, they could have scheduled me an appointment and sent me on my way, but they didn't. And with the office visit, shots and vaccines for both dogs and even flea treatments and testing, I was in and out in under an hour and less than $450. (Again, remember that is for 2 dogs)“

“Prices might initially seem high. When you call all around to other vets though, you quickly realize that vet prices are high everywhere. The customer service might be judged by some as lacking. But truly, I see a lot of folks having a self-proclaimed royalty attitude. They walk into any facility and expect everyone to get out of the line and how dare anyone ask them to wait. In reality, when the customer service seems lacking its probably because they are tending to another customer on the phone or with.. well.. you know.. the other customer complaining. How misery does love company. Bottom line is, this place is good, prices are reasonable, staff is busy but always nice and professional. The times I don't go here is due to schedule availability. Which, amazingly, means this place is widely liked by many pet owners. If they weren't any good then they wouldn't have customers. Then they would have really cheap prices. So all you other folks that want instant service and cheap prices... go ahead and take your pets to those kind of facilities and probably get what ya paid for. Just a thought.“
