We had to say goodbye to our sweet 9 y/o Aussie just this week. He was our baby, our first baby and the center of our world. His illness came on fast and we had to make hard decisions quickly. We are so relieved we chose Heart’s Ease to say goodbye to our baby. I had a few conversations with Cori, the coordinator, and she was beyond compassionate and delicate while talking through such difficult decisions. We met Dr. Bennett the day we said goodbye. My husband and I were both so scared but as soon as she got there (and got right down on our fur covered floors to greet our dog) we immediately felt comforted and reassured we were making the right decision. She was so compassionate and easy to talk to during the most difficult time of my life. She made the whole process as easy as it can be. We will never forget her. I wondered how anyone can do a job like this, but I figure it must be fulfilling knowing the lasting impact she’s having on families. We got to say goodbye to our sweet boy in our home, in our bed where he felt safest and happiest. That is a privilege I’m so glad Heart’s Ease could grant us.
