We are NOT happy with our experience with the PSY Center on the ARH Hospital Campus. My father was in this facility for a week before I was notified of his status. It's almost impossible to get in touch with the medical staff, social workers and/or the patient. There is a hospital phone menu that drops you into a voicemail system. And when you DO speak to a staff member, they are not helpful at all. They just forward your call to someone else's voicemail, and you RARELY get a call back. My father was released from the hospital with no notice. He was sent out in hospital attire, with his street clothes in a garbage bag, and 2 pill bottles in his hand. No follow... read full review

We have taken a family member for cancer treatment several times to the ARH Markey Cancer Center and have been appalled by the consistently poor management of this facility. Our patient is frazzled and upset every time we have to enter this facility. Markey has taken a terrible situation in our lives and made it even more difficult. The office staff are unable to answer basic questions and are not very considerate of the patients. Medical staff are curt and do not introduce themselves to the patient, which is crucial to help frightened cancer patients feel more comfortable. Unfortunately the only Hospital close enough for emergency situations in Hazard. The hospital is not known for any specific specialty and is quite basic. If you have any severe condition or ailment I would suggest seeking treatment in a larger city with a better hospital than this. I have been to this hospital many times to visit others and also to be treated myself, it seems like the staff has a job to do and they do their job, they certainly do not go above and beyond as most modern up to date hospitals do.
