The technician came out, and promptly got to work, even though it was a weekend. He was also able to give us some answers as to why we would be continuing to have stoppage issues, Something no other plumber has done in the past when we’ve had this problem. We now have a clear idea of how to go forward, and much appreciate the timely and skillful work.
We live in a house that was built in 1918 and still has clay pipes in our sewer line that leads from the house to the city sewer line. Our neighbor has trees along the side of his yard that are over 100 years old and have extensive roots that run along our sewer pipe... yup, you guessed it, roots in the line -- it was completely plugged and not draining. Benjamin worked for hours trying to clear the line out with a snake and it just was not working (on a Sunday no less) so he came back the next evening with the 4000 psi water jetter to try and break the root ball. After being in a slight panic, with water on my basement floor, the night before I was supposed to leave for a trip, I called Roto-Rooter and within 45 minutes they had a technician at my front door after 9 pm. The after-hours call fee was SUPER reasonable, the dispatcher and technician were both very kind. I was able to leave the next morning feeling confident I wasn’t going to come home to a mess.
