My most recent appointment was just a maintenance visit to check our furnace. The technician was great, but he was about an hour late which was a little inconvenient - thus the 4 stars. The lady who called me to tell me he was on his way "if that was okay" called after the scheduled arrival time, and she didn't apologize that he was running late. Not a big deal, but I would have expected an apology which I did get when the technician arrived.

Scam…..we have an AC that is 4 years old. Capacitor went out. Covered by Carrier warranty according to online. He arrived and said it wasn’t covered under warranty and it was going to be the $89 service charge for coming out PLUS $174 for the capacitor. I asked him if we could call carrier because from what I could tell it should be covered under warranty. He called and Carrier confirmed that it was covered under warranty but he still charged the $89 PLUS the $174 and said it was a “restocking charge” because carrier takes so long to reimburse them. So they are now getting paid by us AND Carrier. This replacement took less than 5 minutes. Don’t use Cates.........EDITED...read full review

I had someone come out for a quote and they said they had to escalate it to their supervisor but I never received a call back. When I called customer service about this they said they would have the supervisor reach out to me and I still never heard anything back from anyone.

EDIT: After they saw this review they finally came out to do an estimate. They looked at everything and made some decisions, but I've still yet to receive an estimate.
