The inmates do good work. They’re friendly too.

A few things to keep in mind:
- Appointments needed. Call ahead and schedule a time.
- cash only! There’s also no ATM there. So be prepared and bring some with you.
- no phones or weapons inside the shop.
- they might close due to emergencies or unforeseen circumstances. So call ahead if you’re concerned they might be closed (I.e. for forecasted inclement weather)

Best haircut in town. And cheapest. No kids due to inmates that cut the hair.They are extremely trustworthy and wouldn't be outside of their correctional facility without a SERIOUS vetting process.They also do women's hair.

$5.00 for a haircut! Seems to one of the best kept secrets of Fort Leavenworth. Believe this barber shop is only open to Government employees and/or their dependents. Yet, the barbers are inmates who either have their license or in the process of getting it. As much time as they have to practice, I'm not surprised that it is definitely in the top of one of the best haircuts I've ever had. The barber took his time, even though there were people waiting - probably because it isn't money he's missing out on. To line up my beard with a straight razor and cut my hair was $8.00 total. That's it! And, of course, you can't tip them. All of this is, I see why the waiting area was getting full as I was leaving the barber chair.
