The best tree service I ever used. Not only did they cut my trees they cleaned up all my branches and all the wood chips . They blew off my sidewalks, there wasn’t any mess left in my yard. The pricing was fair and I received more then my money’s worth. I would recommend them to anyone.
Over the past year I have hired several contractors for varying jobs for myself and for my mother. Nobody I have hired has been just awful thank goodness. But a few I have hired do seem more focused on how soon will they get paid as opposed to doing the job per my instructions. Lago Tree Service wasn't in that category. If I had to rate my experience with all my hired contractors Lago had been the absolute best at getting the job done. I had a Chinese Elm in my backyard that was only 12 feet from our kitchen. The trunk was 3.5 feet in diameter and it was 60 to 70ft. tall. I had mixed emotions about taking it down. But it was dying and I was fearful of it landing on our house in a storm. In 2012 an ice storm broke off multiple limbs but luckily all the limbs fell in the backyard and did no damage. It took me several weeks to clean the mess up with a small electric chainsaw. So it was time to bring it down. I found Lago Tree Service on Thumbtack and sent a message to the owner Paul Langenfeld asking for a quote. He showed up a few days later to discuss my project. I wanted the Chinese Elm brought down and hauled away. At the corner of my property I had two smaller trees with trunks about six inches in diameter that I needed removed as well. I was pleasantly surprised by the quote in that it was less than a bid I had gotten for just removing the Elm five years ago. So we came to an agreement on a price for the removal of all three trees plus the stumps ground down on the smaller trees. Not too much time went by from our initial meeting and the work being done. I contacted Paul around the end of November of 2017. The cold and snow was a factor in getting to the job. They were finally able to get to the job January 7th of 2018 and even then it was none too warm. Paul brought with him a crew of about half dozen people. I was home that first day they worked and it really seemed orchestrated quite well. There were flat bed trucks, dump trucks, a boom truck, box trucks, trailers, chippers, a small end loader. It was like grand central station of construction equipment. His crew really seemed to know their jobs and the orchestration between everybody working was impressive. In a situation like this so much could of gone wrong but nothing did. Paul measured the tree and measured the land where he wished to fell the tree. They set up two large trucks with a block and tackle configuration to assure the tree went in the direction they wanted it to go. And he put it right where he wished it to go. It was only inches from the neighbors fence but managed to miss everything. I sighed a sigh of relief as the tree fell and laid upon the ground. It's amazing how much larger a tree looks on the ground than in the air. His crew then went to work with chainsaws cutting up the tree in more manageable pieces. I wasn't there the second day they worked but when I got home all the logs had been hauled away. Paul's crew had even raked the property of wood chips. It was money well spent. I have since hired Paul one other time and that went like clock work as well. I will write that up in a follow up review in the near future. I highly recommend Lago Tree Service and Lago Excavating without reservation for all your tree removal and landscaping needs. -Philip Dees
