Wow I was so wrong about this place. It came with mixed reviews so I thought I would give it a try. I feel do bad for my baby he has been having so many issues. The nurses wanted to argue with me regarding APOQUELL lol cuz everyone just wants to pay hundreds of dollars a months for this for no reason.. They saw him in the office a few days prior but needed to CONFIRM they he had a valid script for the Apoquell smh cuz Allivet would contact them and not have had a previous script that they shared with them that literally expired 2 weeks ago!!! So now he is OUT of his meds and is going to be miserable till I can get him in at a capable vet!!! The office manager Chelsea is a joke she is rude and condisending. Seriously thinking about taking legal action!! This place is really over priced and honestly full of people that literally are on power trips.. For real us there a demand on the streets for allergy meds for a animal lol nothing good that I can say...take the reviews to heart they are really true!!! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST
The Vets are great here. Dr. Steph knows how to be an advocate for your animal. I give her 5 stars but the receptionists are a joke and are the face of this facility. You will not notice this if you have a healthy pet. If you have a pet with health concerns, and your interactions with this place increases, you experience it frequently. I have been given the wrong medical records for my dog. I have been given wrong prescriptions with no explanation. Ordered my dogs immunotherapy shots and after a month had passed, they were yet to be ordered, this is crucial for quality of life for my dog but they did take out payment right away. I have called for a shampoo that you can get on amazon with no prescription but in this case I needed it right away and it had to go through a vet to approve it. My vet that we typically see was not there, so there was no one that could approve it since the others are not familiar with my pet. After pointing out that my dog has a extensive medical record with this facility, and the same ongoing concern, I also have bottles of medication with other vets name on it and not the vet I typically see, they 'approved' the shampoo. I understand people are 'trying' to do their jobs but at what point do you sit back and question does this make sense? The purpose of this post is because you do not have to be trained to be a body in a chair, or answer the phones. These receptionists learn by doing and eventually may become good at being your pets advocate. In the meantime, they are learning by making costly mistakes with your pet. When it comes to your pets life, you MUST be their advocate. I highly recommend increasing the qualifications of the receptionists at Family Pet Health Center.
We are so grateful for the kind treatment we received here. Although the procedure our kitty needed turned out to be unaffordable on our (rather low) budget, we felt that the doctor and the staff all "bent over backwards" to try to provide us as much help as they could give, and to make our decisions easier. The doctor spent a lot of time talking with us and gave us much helpful information, including possible options. I wish I'd had the money to get the surgery done at this clinic, because these people are clearly some of the best--if your cat needs a dental procedure, you will get top-of-the-line pain prevention and control here; plus, you'll get to meet some of the nicest people in the vet business. True, the rates are not cheap, but in this case you get the superb care you pay for. I would recommend this clinic a dozen times over!
