My beloved longtime barber, Ted, from North Liberty died last year. He was 94. In trying to find a new barber, I went to a couple barber shops, neither of which I cared for. When I walked into Uncle Doug's, I knew I had found my new barber shop. It's what I consider a "authentic" barber shop, a place with sports memorabilia hanging on the walls, along with old pictures, other knick knacks and a spread of magazines.. My cuts from Uncle Doug have been great. He is a good conversationalist with very interesting stories and is knowledgeable of local history. The last time I was in, he had an additional barber. I have a good opinion of the new barber also. Uncle Doug's takes appointments and also walk-ins. "True" barber shops are disappearing. Please support Uncle Doug's.
