Dr Miller is the son of an optometrist. He worked in the family practice as a young man before going to IU Optometry School, graduating in 1987. After a couple of years in the family practice he moved to South Carolina and worked with an ophthalmologist, also working at an army base in Savannah, Georgia. He and his wife then moved to establish a practice inside a Wal-Mart in Stockton California. He now has been in Noblesville since 1998.
