The Right Place For Finding The Right Pros Near You!
I recently got the chance to check out the Franciscan Arts Initiative at the Mary Anderson Center, and it was such an unexpected treat! I honestly didn’t know what to expect going in, but I ended up learning so much and having a great time. The center is tucked away in this peaceful, beautiful spot at Mt. St. Francis, and it’s got such a relaxed, welcoming vibe. You can really feel the creative energy there, but it’s also super calm, which I think comes from the whole Franciscan philosophy they have.
What I loved most was how the arts and nature are totally intertwined. I mean, how cool is it to have your studio right next to a lake or surrounded by trees? It’s like the environment becomes part of the creative process. I spent some time walking around the grounds, and everywhere I went, I felt this sense of reflection and inspiration—like nature was nudging me to think deeper. You could see why so many artists come here for residencies.
One thing that surprised me was learning about the Franciscan values behind it all. It’s not just about making art for the sake of it, but really about creating in a way that’s mindful and connected to the world around you. I could feel that energy in the workspaces, the art being produced there, and even in the conversations I had with people.
By the end of the day, I walked away not just inspired but with this feeling that art and spirituality really can go hand-in-hand. It was such a refreshing experience—I learned so much about creativity, mindfulness, and even a bit about myself. Definitely a place I’d recommend to anyone looking to recharge their creative batteries!
