The 150-year-old, 90-foot-tall shingle oak that once graced the front of our home at 636 Ferry started visibly dying last year and, as much as we grieved the decline of this grand old giant of an oak, after a significant, tree-sized limb came down in that capful of wind we had around midnight July 15 (fortunately no one was hurt and no property damaged but our own), we knew what we had to do.

Of the tree service people we spoke with while collecting quotes, Jeremy stood out to us as not only professional but personable, taking time to show up and quote the project himself and being patient enough to talk with us about our concerns. He then provided us with a quote via email and provided us with copies of his certificates of liability and workers compensation insurance.

One way that we knew Epic was the right choice was how professionally responsive Jeremy was. He got in touch within a day or two of my message asking for a quote, scheduled a visit within the same week, and after we’d accepted the quote, he reached out to schedule the work at the earliest date available. Thereafter, he communicated with the city forester’s office, took care of the arrangements for shutting down this end of the street (because of the size and location of the tree), called to check in with us the week before the work was scheduled, and showed up with traffic cones the day before to block off the parking areas on either side of the street. In the end, all we had to do was inform our neighbors in advance, which we did, and then remind them closer to the actual date, which we also did.

Best of all, Jeremy and his crew showed up first thing this morning with the heavy equipment, lift, crane, chipper, trucks, etc. and completed the work in just over the 4 hours he had estimated it would take, including cleaning up all the wood debris, twigs, leaves and sawdust, as well! He did all the cutting from the actual tree himself while his crew cut up and loaded the large logs into the trailer and fed the smaller logs and limbs into the chipper. It was amazing to watch how they all worked together, almost as if it were choreographed.

Jeremy and his crew were all simply amazing ~ efficient, professional, and courteous, and at a very reasonable price for the work done. We will continue to to do business with Epic whenever we have trees that need tending in the future, and we will certainly recommend Jeremy and his crew to anyone who needs tree work done!“
