He came right away on short notice. We had water leaking into garage from our air conditioner/furnace. We had gotten the unit from a different company. He blew out the pipes and it helped. He even cleaned the garage floor when he was done. He was very professional, courteous & excellent to work with. We highly recommend Comfort Mechanical business.
We were experiencing problems with our AC in 2018. The unit was running far too long and the supply air was not cold. We called Comfort Mechanical to diagnose. Since I have an engineering background and did my senior project on refrigeration systems, I was fairly certain the system was likely low on refrigerant and had developed a continuous leak. CM's tech came out and performed the superheat/subcool diagnostics and recommended recharging. So far so good. Unfortunately I asked about performing a leak detection and the tech shrugged his shoulders. He said it wasn't needed and the leak was due to an old compressor coil and we needed to replace it at a cost of $4000. Really? You know all that even though you didn't bother to check for leaks in the lineset? I told him we would wait to see what happens. After about one year, the AC was running warm again - exact same symptoms - and we called another HVAC firm. This new firm came out, diagnosed low coolant, showed me the TX sensing bulb was disconnected AND performed a leak detection which immediately showed a leaky recharge valve. They repaired and recharged everything for the same price as CM. And no surprise, we've had 3 years of continual use (AC in the summer, heat pump in the winter). 2022 - everything still running perfectly. So I can't prove the reason for Comfort Mechanical's motivation in not checking for the source of the coolant leak -- but he was sure willing to sell us a new $4000 compressor we didn't need. (and have the proof) Either way, it's not the type of help you'd want
