I received Jim’s his name from multiple people in the community that have used him. He was very efficient and thorough. He walked us through each part and we had our return deposited 7 days later.
We found Jim through a friend of ours about 9 years ago. When we started using Jim for our taxes we had college loans, I was still enrolled in college, I had a full time job, my wife ran an in-home daycare business. Our first time doing taxes with Jim had us nervous. We had always done our own taxes prior to this. However with all of the documents we would now need due to college, and in home business and my own work... the long form was going to be difficult. Prior to meeting Jim we contacted him through email to try and get all of the documentation's necessary so we would get it done right the first time. Jim returns emails within a reasonable time. He lays out in detail everything you need. Jim is a stickler and by the books. He stays current with the ever changing laws for tax preparations. He will go into great detail of anything you have questions about to help you understand what your getting, why your getting it or why your not, and what extra would benefit you. He is a tax preparer who's there for your best interest at mind along with his own company so that you don't get audited. I haven't been to many tax preparers so on his pricing I'm not sure as far as comparison to others. For our normal tax return with home business and school and work, it ran us around 200-250$. For our now "basic" tax preparation it runs us about 115-140$. The more you have prepared and organized the less he will try and charge. If you bring a stack full of papers, a box of receipts, completely unorganized.... your going to get charged more. I suggest contacting Jim, set an appointment. Let Jim know what all you have going on in your life, and what he needs for information "if you don't all ready know" have the total itemized break downs all ready printed on your expenses, your income, ect. Have your W'2s, 1099's, mileage ready. Like I said the more organized the smoother the process the less you'll spend in the end. We have always had an easy process with Jim. It usually takes 30 min to an hour to pre-file, meaning " he will give you the total return you will receive before you leave his home" then once you leave they will finalize your return and send it in. He accepts cash or checks when paying for his services. He does not give out any time of gift cards or anything early. You pay for your service, he tells you an approx. deposit date and amount for your taxes, and your appointment is then complete. Excellent service, very professional, very detailed, no gimmicks, straight forward, honest and pleasant tax preparer.
A long established business with exceptional integrity and tax law knowlege. The owner is a pleasant gentleman who will go out of his way to do your taxes the right way. I highly recommend this business.
