“I recently had a complete roof replacement (tear off, new shingles and gutters) performed by Petersen Construction. I am very pleased with entire the job. First of all, Petersen Construction is a small company, so I dealt directly with the owner Paul Peterson, as opposed to a salesman who is on commission. Paul was very informative as to the types of materials he would be using, and provided various options for the shingles themselves. Paul uses quality materials. For example, the shingles I received are class 4 hail rated, which reduces the probability of damage during a storm – not your typical “box store” shingles. Ice and water barrier was installed along the edges, valleys and flashing areas, which provides additional protection against leaks. The plumbing vent pipe boots are heavy duty and have a lifetime guarantee. The synthetic underlayment provides better performance than typical tar paper. Paul pays close attention to detail, overseeing the job down to the smallest detail, such as nail placement on the ice and water barrier in the valleys. Paul was on site for most of the process and actually assisted with part of installation, including cutting and installing new chimney flashing. The team showed up on time, completed the roofing portion of the job in a single day, and did an excellent job cleaning up afterward. The roof looks great.
