In the mid 1980s I was a very young boy with terrible vision constantly running into walls. My parents took me to Dr. Sampson who fitted me with prescriptive eyewear and created a therapy for me that lasted several years. In the late 1990s I took my glasses off for the last time. Since I have spent much of my adult life in the Department of Defense in assignments requiring uncorrected vision, I attribute my career successes in large part to Dr. Sampson.

I've had eye exams other places and none as detailed as Dr. Sampson. He truly cares about how you see the world and it shows! He is also very good about telling the kids what is going on and explaining new research in eye care.

I think he does a great job with all kinds of special cases, particularly head injury cases. We were referred for a possible developmental visual processing deficit. He did a TERRIBLE job from start to finish. I asked many questions & pushed & he was not able to provide answers or explanations. He gave us all kinds of exercises to do which just caused frustration & a decline in reading scores. Really disappointed in his care & lack of ability to explain what his "findings" were. I asked for a written report, which was a waste. It's a shame we don't have better services for children in our area.
