“Supposedly, my house was thoroughly inspected before I signed the closing documents. But two days after getting the keys, NIPSCO shut off the gas, because in addition to finding a leak outside by the gas meter, they also found a leak behind the stove, and three leaks along the gas pipes used by the boiler. Additionally, like me, NIPSCO was not able to light the pilot to the water heater, so they shut that off too. I was told that they would not turn the gas back on until repairs were made, and they suggested that I get a new water heater as well as a new stove. Being new to the area and in 30-degree weather, I called the first plumbing business I saw. Their estimate to do repairs was $3,700. He even took the time to show me how to turn off the valve to the stove if I needed to, and he also showed me how to drain the water heater once a year, and why it was important for maintenance! The Plumber did an outstanding job for me, which began with the excellent customer service I got from Lisa. They did the work quickly, and they did it with care.
