Have been a patient since 2018. Everything was great til this past year. Insurance company needs more info from Dr. before filling new prescription. I have called every other week for months and left messages with Dr. Boyntons nurse with no return call. Even called reception and voiced my disappointment.. they sent a message to the nurse who replied she would call back. That was a month ago. This last time I left a message I even left my husband's phone number just in case they weren't getting through to my phone for some reason. Am now looking for a new GI. Been long enough I can just start over if it'll get me the care I need.

Extremely expensive. Very business like. Colonoscopies and endoscopes are not considered major procedures, even if they are very uncomfortable preparing or recovering from. So some techs are friendly there some are not. Had several here and never been hurt but only once had a stellar experience. Always paid a boat load of money.

I don’t care that I may have to come back for procedures. What just took place is unprofessional and cruel. I went in to finally resolve an almost 4 year long issue. I told Dr. Murphy my past experience with doctors has not been great and I was always made to feel as though my issues were not serious. By the end of the conversation I felt understood by Dr. Murphy, like she knew how serious I was about getting help. So when I forgot my doctors notes for work I thought it would be a simple phone call. Wrong. I was prescribed medicine for my daily vomiting and horrible abdominal pain, but when I went to pick it up they said my insurance would not go through. Making my $7 medicine $89. As one could imagine I was not prepared for this price and could not afford it at the time, right after paying for my appointment and X-rays. So the next morning I call before they even open due to the pain and symptoms I knew I needed the note for the day before but I also wanted one for that morning as the vomiting had kept me up since 3 am. I call, no message can be left so I wait until the line opens at 8:30 AM. I call again they say they don’t know why the insurance isn’t going through (which I know wasn’t their fault) and they also said my request would need to be granted by the doctor and I’d receive a call back. I wait. 1 hour. 2 hours. I call again. No one answers I leave a message. No calls. I call another office looking for a connection/transfer to my doctor. No one answers. I had to leave messages at other offices for my doctor to give me a note for work. Then the lines close. I have not received a call back. The next day I get a call back the next day from a different doctor. Not even my doctor or the nurse I spoke with who said she’d call me. Another nurse who transferred me to Murphys nurse, who doesn’t answer. I leave another message and did not hear back until today. 3 days after my appointment 2 days after I called them personally and explained the situation. Then I was told the doctor would not write a note for the day I was sick. The day RIGHT AFTER THE APPOINTMENT IN WHICH HER PRESSING ON MY STOMACH MADE ME WANT TO CRY. Which she acknowledged, just like she acknowledged my lack of sleep how I told her I wake up in pain very early in the mornings and it is debilitating. It’s just very frustrating to me that I even had to wait DAYS to get an answer from them and then after they knew I could not get the medicine to help with my symptoms they still would not give me a note for work. It’s just like why would I tell you all the personal battles I deal with and then you turn around and not only are you nonresponsive to a patient you JUST SAW. But as soon as my face wasn’t sitting in the chair in front of you, you were immediately dismissive of the symptoms I sat there almost crying explaining to you. Horrible. Awful. People wonder why black women die at disproportionate rates at the hands of doctors until you see something so careless happen to you, you’ll never know how actually painful it can be.Now although the nurse and doctor have severely upset me I want to take a moment and thank the lab technicians and Ceri downstairs who were so helpful and kind to me during my rough evening at the hospital. I’ll most likely call and tell them I do not wish to be seen by them anymore and here I go again on the years long wait to be taken seriously and treated compassionately but a health care professional. I’ll try my best to find a better medical center, if not I’ll just take my tums, duramine, and pepto like I’ve been forced to for the last 4 years.
