Had to bring someone in for some respiratory issues, we didn't have an appointment for urgent care. The receptionists were kind and efficient. We were seen within 15 minutes of being there and the patient was given an appropriate amount of check ups. They did run a test that this patient specifically asked not to have done, which I definitely docked stars from.
Positives: Clean and big facility with state of art equipment Most doctors are good at what they do Generally professional environment at the reception etc They worked hard to get me what I wanted through insurance in the podiatry clinic-nurses and docs in podiatry are efficient Doctors seem polite and concerned Negatives: Got voice mail most of time and no one answers-- takes me 3-4 phone calls to get an appointment Waiting times to see doc are long despite appointment (always told the same excuse-doc is behind schedule today due to too many appointments-- come on) Front desk staff took their own sweet time to check me in-- no respect for patient's time in my opinion My complaints were met with scorn--they do not like to hear any negatives One doc's nurse mailed me the wrong eyeglass prescription three times before sending me the right one which tells me that in some departments attention to detail is missing They always allow many walk-ins so that patients with appointments wait longer and pay the price in terms of time--then what is the point of making appointments One doc was in a great hurry to get me out of there and was seeing 3 patients simultaneously--he would walk in and out during consultation with me while the nurse was performing a procedure on me--nurse will help you I will come right back.. this did not make me feel comfortable
I am appalled at how horrible the service is at mercy woodstock medical center. Just To make an appointment is like getting 'penciled' in to see a celebrity or someone of higher class. They don't do confirmation calls, and they don't call to cancel your appointment until the day of the appointment. They don't have an emergency doctor just in case your original doctor is out sick or on call. All in all it's just a big inconvenience. The only reason this place got 2 stars is because when I did 'eventually' get in the doctor was very nice along with her two nurses Kristin and Michelle.
