We contacted them to do our annual required backflow testing (we have never had any leaks or any visible damage to our system). We were told that our testing failed and that we owed over $1400 for repairs. We had another company come out for a second opinion and we passed with no issue (we watched to ensure the testing was done correctly). American Backflow is a scam, they falsify info just to get more money from you. Do not contact them for any services!

Our backflow preventer failed the test that American Backflow took. it was leaking. 4 days later they sent me a quote for about $700 to repair it. The device was leaking and I wanted it repaired. They told me they would need to check with Barrington to see if an inspection would be required before installing a new backflow device. 10 days later and they never called back. I finally contacted Barrington myself and found out that no inspection was required. I called Backflow and they said they could do the repair in about 6 weeks! it was leaking! I asked if they could do it sooner. They said no, unless I pay emergency fees of an extra $300 per hour, or at least $600 for the two hour job! They we're going to charge me over $1,400. I finally said I'd call another plumber. They said fine, but we'll charge $105 to reinspect the device after you get it replaced! This company is awful.

This company was supposed to do a backflow inspection for my business. I received a water shut off notification from my village due to the inspection not being completed. As it turns out, this company did not inspect the backflow in my unit at all, rather they inspected something else in the building that had nothing to do with me.I tried to contact the company to have them come out to inspect the correct devices and they told me they could not do it due to heavy call volume. They should have known what to inspect and they screwed that up. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY.
