She is the most compassionate and thorough vet I've ever worked with, she took my concerns seriously and was able to get my pup taken care of with both health and budget in mind. “At almost 21 years old, my corn snake developed some kind of mass and stopped eating. As he got thinner, besides the lump, I knew he was dying. I had never needed to take him to a Vet before and I had to call around to find someone to see my reptile. They put him to sleep humanely, and when they gave him back to me in the shoebox I brought, it was covered in hearts and Colby's name printed on the top. It was such a sweet, thoughtful gesture! When their website says that they provide compassionate care, it's for the patients AND the pet parents, regardless of species or time as a client. “As someone who was new to boarding a pet for an extended period of time, Crossroads was very accommodating and understanding of my needs and worries, especially in regards to some reactive tendencies with my dog Reinhardt. Thankfully these worries were alleviated quickly after a small tour of the facility a few months ago, and even more so after some trial daycare days. “I followed Dr. Davis from the U. Of I. Vet Clinic to AHATC when he began this veterinary practice. I'm not even sure what year that was. I'm 85, so you know I am extremely happy with the competence and care all our dogs (and cats) have received. I have found warm and welcoming professionals from the receptionists, vet techs, and veterinarians throughout the many years I have been coming to this vet practice. The same has been true since Dr. Davis retired and Dr. Stoerger has continued the practice. Every time I've had to make that awful decision a pet owner often faces, I have been supported and eased through euthanizing a beloved furry member of our family, this practice has supported me with their combined veterinary skills, their empathy, and their understanding for my loss. My most recent experience in dealing with my Murphy's struggle with cancer, I was able to get through it with their support and caring. Dr. Stoerger came to my home with a vet tech and told me to let her know when I was ready. (You're not ever really "ready" to lose your friend and companion, but you know it's the last caring thing you can do for them, and I was given the gift of Dr. Stoerger's understanding and empathy for my loss. She has cared for Murphy, my beagle mix, from 2012 when I adopted him until his recent euthanasia. When the mass was discovered in his lung, she told me of the cancer division at U. Of I. Veterinarian Medical School, who were wonderful as well. When I took him there, she shared his medical records with them. In his illness and euthanasia, she was so tender with him--and with me--that I felt comforted, and I know Murphy was as well. “We ADORE A&E! Dr. McGuffin takes care of our dog and Dr. Maher our cat. The level of time, attention, and caring they both show is so appreciated. We never feel rushed, and they make us feel at ease about asking questions.
