I try and avoid hair salons..there I said it. I have naturally curly hair, and I've had decades of beauticians wanting to to it "their way," and destroyed my hair. I've been cutting my own for 3 decades, but within the last 2 years, my hair started going straight, and I was in unfamiliar territory. Sophia (who is the owner of Gemini,) was highly recommended to help me with (wait for it,) "a perm." Talk about a leap of faith, right? I stopped in to introduce myself, and she immediately asked what kind of color I was using, and to find out the percentage of peroxide it had. What?? Ok..so I call L'Oréal and they give me the info. That's never happened to anyone I know, but Sophia wanted this info to move forward. I respected that. Fast forward to the big day, and I'm a bit apprehensive, but as soon as I crossed the threshold of her salon, I was met with respect, asked if I brought in photos (which I did,) the reality of anything used on the hair and it's effects on "medicated hair," and the constant reassurance that nothing will be done without my permission. After the perm was complete, she said "ok, time to trim the hair," which I replied "no, not this visit." She immediately understood that I wanted the perm to relax after 48 hours, and to see where the curls would lay when gravity did its job. Then, I would come in fora dry cut, per curl. She finished my sentence and knew exactly what I wanted. So, take someone who feared stylists like one would a dentist, and for good reason..and be polite yet firm in what you are expecting and hoping for, and if you have a highly skilled, highly educated professional, you will walk out looking fabulous. The price was moderate, salon was bright, clean and cheerful and I was in promptly at 1:00 and home at 3:30. Happy. I highly recommend Sophia and her salon. I found it it was started by she and her Dad, so it's Genesis was a loving Father/Daughter relationship. Family. Wonderful place, people and outcome.

I have been going to Gemini for haircuts since 1997 and I totally recommend this place to anyone. Family owned, reasonably priced, wonderful people, but most importantly great service every time I go here!!
