Went to get box braids. I brought plenty of bundles of hair. It was supposed to take 8hrs, they finished in 3. I thought that was good until I realized that they finished so quickly because they sectioned in big parts for small braids. My hair looks so stringy, rather than the thick flowy look I was expecting. Then I was charged 250 dollars for it. Being a nonconfrontational person, I paid and left, but I'm still heartbroken at how it turned out.EDIT: After posting this review, I got a call from the owner who offered to restyle me free of charge. Got there after bout 9:30 due to walking from 141st and Wabash. Hafay was waiting I showed her sorta what I wanted she laid it baby!!!! She laid my hair. She picked the colors just extremely satisfied. See her in three months

I went to Madeline's African Hair Braiding on a whim and I'm very glad I did. I called on Saturday after perusing so many braid salons on yelp and decided to take a chance on lil ol Madeline with only two favorable reviews. I spoke with Myla (sp?) and she was very kind and informative the few minutes I did speak with her. I made an appointment with her for Sunday thinking I'm just gonna take a chance and out of desperation because my hair had become a sore spot in my life.
