I don't understand the two poor reviews - Mike's been cutting my hair for over 30 years - it's always perfect. He's by far the best barber I've ever used. He was trained for several years in Italy before being allowed to call himself a "barber" and he's forgotten more about cutting men's hair than most U.S. - trained barbers, beauticians, stylists, etc. will ever know. He's very professional, friendly and extremely reasonably priced considering the quality and attention to detail he provides. I live and work in the downtown and near-north Chicago areas and travel all the way to Oak Lawn, where I grew up, to see Mike every five weeks. Mike’s Barber Shop is the gentlemen’s barber shop where you go to get caught up on the latest neighborhood news, a good cup of coffee, and the best haircut on the Southside. Mike has an eye for perfection and a steady hand; a real professional and a pillar of the community.If you’re looking to walk-in for a cheap fade, this is not the shop for you. Mike is the greatest barber in my opinion. He has never disappointed me and I have no complaints. He also does a great job on the back of the neck with the straight blade. A gem of a barbershop, great selection of reading material, great coffee, and atmosphere.
