My fiancé had multiple surgeries for a bowel resection and then eventually a temporary ileostomy. She was sent home on a double lumen picc line, one line for antibiotics and the other for TPN (Nutrition). Well, one of her lines clogged up and we immediately called lifecare. They said they would have a nurse give us a call back. We didn’t hear for hours. Called back and same thing.. waited for hours. Eventually this turned into 48 hours of dealing with a clogged line. Everything started off fairly well. A nurse(?) from Lifecare came to our house and showed us how to administer IV antibiotics (3 times/day). Then for the next 5 weeks a different nurse came out first twice a week and then once a week to change the dressing and just check up on things. All went well until the course of antibiotics was finished. The nurse was supposed to come and remove the PICC line on Wednesday (February 22nd). First there was a miscommunication between Lifecare and the doctor. This place caregivers were incompetent and thieves I lost more things in my condo than I could imagine I am a stroke survivor and the caregivers took advantage me who can’t watch them in my condo because I am paralyzed and can’t moved around my condo! Very disappointing! After 18 months using the caregivers from lifecare, i have sunk into deep depression and has to go through psycho therapy ! I have since then changed to another company and their caregivers are caring not like the caregivers from life care they wanted to treat me like some one who has memory problem because of my stroke they wanted to control me not knowing that i am still cognitive very okay!
