My two-year-old daughter, husband, mom, and I embarked on a transformative journey with Napa Center Therapy in Chicago in December 2022. It was a profound experience, deeply impactful not only for my daughter but also for me as her advocate. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff at Napa Center were exceptional. The therapists were incredibly patient, innovative, and kind, qualities that truly stood out as they worked with my daughter. They employed an extraordinary interdisciplinary approach, seamlessly integrating her interests into the therapy sessions. For instance, if she showed a preference for a particular toy during her morning session OT, her therapist would thoughtfully include it in her PT session. This intensive therapy marked a series of firsts for my daughter, a "pandemic baby"--her first time leaving the state, flying on an airplane, and staying in a hotel. The changes were immense, but the therapists were incredibly supportive, easing her transition. They sang nursery rhymes to her, allowed her to play with her fidget toy, and were endlessly patient and responsive, ensuring she was comfortable and engaged during her sessions. The team's willingness to go above and beyond was evident, with therapists frequently joining her session when they had a free moment, often creating a beneficial two or even three-to-one ratio. This was especially advantageous as they were training a new therapist, providing an extra set of hands to assist. There was an unexpected snowstorm, and the NAPA team went above and beyond to make sure that they rescheduled our sessions so we can hunker down before the worst of it began. Our experience was so positive that we returned in December 2023. Despite having a few different therapists, the quality of care remained outstanding. It was a joy to see her walk into the session to the cheers of all the therapists, a testament to her progress and their continued support. Our journey with Napa Center Therapy Chicago has been nothing short of life-changing. They have not only opened up a new world of care for our daughter but have also ignited a deep-seated passion within us to advocate for those with disabilities. We are eternally grateful to the Napa team for their dedication and the profound impact they've had on our lives.
