I told him what I needed and he came out the next day to give me an estimate and schedule a time. I had previously seen 2 other window and door reps and was given estimates on new windows and gutters but not on my sliding glass door. Anyhow, Robert and his crew were amazing. “TLDR: Guys like Bob & Austin create customer loyalty by exceeding expectations, and doing it with a smile.I’m writing this review to share my opinion of work done by Austin Millichamp and Bob Grassfield, who came to the rescue after my restoration & rehab project fell through the cracks. I’ve been in the real estate investing business for 20 years and I know a good team when I find one. The team (Austin & Bob) I had was 2nd to none.My townhouse in Vernon Hills flooded in August 2023. The restoration team came to clean-up and tear-out everything ruined by the flood including drywall, HVAC, etc. For putting it all back together, the insurance company recommended I call Paul Davis Restoration. The office assigned Austin Millichamp to assess the situation and start the reconstruction process. Working with Austin was great. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Austin understood the situation I was in, and he made the extra effort to meet me on my schedule to review the project and fix the mess. I still remember, during a meeting at a Starbucks, he said “I feel terrible that your project is taking so long and I’m going to get your unit fixed as fast as we can”. That made me feel very confident about working with Paul Davis.Austin completed his piece and handed the project over to Bob Grassfield, who promptly reached out and met me at the unit to review the project. I enjoy working with Bob. He is polite, communicative, experienced, and he rolls with the punches. We discussed all the options for rebuilding the unit, and he was able to offer suggestions where I wasn’t sure about something. As I mentioned, I’ve been in real estate a while and worked with many GC’s. Bob is one of the best from technical knowledge, administrative push-through, and customer service perspectives. As a business owner, I know it's very hard to find someone who is such an expert and also so good with customers.We finally finished in MAY 2024. All-in-all, I’d say Auston and Bob not only saved the day, but created a loyal customer for Paul Davis. They took a high-value customer that was going out the door, and turned me into a believer. “Hi! I had a sewer backup in my townhouse unit. There is a separate room that has the main sewer for all 4 units in my building. I don’t know how long the sewer was backed up for, I only discovered it because my basement wall started leaking. The plumbers said the clog was due to trying to flush wipes. After the clog was fixed, Kevin and his team from Giertsen Company of Illinois came in. Boy did they have work to do. The room was completely disgusting -- the floor had standing sewer water, there were wipes on the floor that had caused the clog, the sewer water crept up the walls and the dry wall was all wet. You could hardly breathe in that room. Kevin and his team did amazing work! Everything was clean and sanitized. He had all of the wet dry wall cut out. He came to my unit and sanitized where the sewage was leaking in. I appreciate all of his hard work!

It has been a couple of weeks now and new dry wall has been put in. Everything is still so nice and the smell is gone. I wanted to let Kevin’s supervisors know what a great worker they have. He was very personable and explained everything to me. He assured me it would be taken care of and it was!!

“Recently a couple of young men appeared at my door asking to inspect my roof for Hail damage from a storm back in June.While I don't recall any significant damaging storm,they insisted my neighborhood has been deemed a catastrophy area due to said storm. They proceeded to inspect my roof initially with an employee who had been with the company NEW AMERICAN HOME IMPROVEMENT out of Mchenry for about two months. The new employee completed his inspection and indicated that the roof had very minimal damage. Then the other man who was training the new employee went onto the roof and discovered more damage and wanted me to sign up today for a new roof which he insisted would be paid for by my insurance company. He also stated that I should not contact my insurance company as his company employs a Public Adjuster and the adjuster would handle all correspondence with insurance company. When I told him that I would seek a second opinion from Aloha construction who replaced my roof back in 2015 due to severe storm damage from April 9th storm that year,he said not to deal with any company that does not have a public adjuster as my claim would not be approved without the help of a Public Adjuster. Needless to say I was seeing red flags,so I called Aloha to come out and inspect my roof.The following day Jeff ( a 13 year Aloha employee) came out and inspected my roof and concluded that my roof was in very good condition and that all of the chalk marks made by the men from the previous day were in fact a non issue. I have been very happy with the work and service Aloha provided me in 2015 and they came back a couple of years later to resecure an electrical box on the outside of my garage that had become loose, at no charge. Moral of this epic tale is that Aloha Construction did right by me. Jeff could have gone up on the roof and told me that there was indeed damage in order to sell me a new roof that I do not need. The honesty and integrity that Jeff exhibited is a direct reflection of how Aloha Construction operates. Cudos to Jeff and Aloha for their upstanding and outstanding service.
