About Ha's Taekwondo Academy
Ha's Taekwondo Academy is a well-known martial arts school that focuses on traditional Korean Taekwondo, an Olympic sport. The academy is led by a Grand Master who is committed to helping students develop both a strong mind and body through self-discipline. The academy offers various programs, including the TCS (Taekwondo Clinical Support) program, which is based on Exercise-Neuropsychology and helps treat neurodevelopmental disorders. Students of all ages and backgrounds have praised the focus on personal growth and character development, rather than just quick belt progression. The instructors, including Instructor Alan, are highly skilled and create a welcoming and kind environment for everyone. The academy emphasizes respect, focus, and building confidence, making it popular for families in the area. Many students have shared that training here has been life-changing, with the instructors caring deeply about each student’s growth, both on and off the mats. The strong sense of community and support from fellow students make it a place where people come together to inspire one another. Grandmaster Ha is known for his genuine care and dedication, building meaningful relationships with students and their families. His commitment to lifelong learning and continuous improvement in teaching methods inspires everyone who trains under him. The academy is more than just a school; it’s a family, with Grandmaster Ha at its heart. Master Eric is also an exceptional instructor, taking time to understand each student’s strengths and goals. His guidance has helped many develop discipline, confidence, and resilience, which extend beyond martial arts. Students leave with not only physical skills but also a stronger mindset to face challenges, set goals, and grow personally. The positive atmosphere and encouragement make Ha’s Taekwondo a place to transform oneself and connect with a supportive community.

I joined Ha's Taekwondo two years ago, and the journey has been nothing short of transformative. As an adult, I initially felt intimidated by the younger students with their advanced skills, but Grand Master Ha’s welcoming attitude has made it clear that students of all ages and abilities are valued.
As I’ve earned each belt, I’ve noticed a shift in myself. Not only have I developed new skills, but I've also gained more confidence. The instructors and black belts have been an incredible source of inspiration, encouraging me to push beyond my doubts and trust in both my mind and body. I’ve seen the progress in my kihaps, which have grown louder and more...read full review
Our son started at Ha's TKD when he was 5 years old and having difficulty in school. At Ha's, he found a place to channel his energy and develop discipline. He learned to better control his emotions and set goals for himself.
Over the years, we moved to several different states before returning to the Chicago Northwest suburbs. We had the opportunity to compare Ha's with 3 other TKD studios in the Southeast USA and Northern California. We also attended a TKD camp near Seoul, South Korea. I can honestly say that Ha's TKD prepared our son to excel in all these environments! He recently won 1st Place at the New York state tournament as well! Excellent School!
