We had the best experience working with staff at Damar-kaminski for my dad's memorial services. They were nothing but professional, trustworthy, reliable, and considerate throughout the entire process. Thank you for respecting our wishes and honoring our dad so nicely. We have nothing but good things to say about the people working here and the facility itself, thank you again.
I only chose this funeral home because of the location, near Evergreen Cemetery and where one of my father's offices used to be. It doesn't matter whether they are sincerely kind, or just acting kind, because it felt real to me. They were not ethnocentric and completely accepted the Sri Lankan Buddhist traditions, which meant a lot less money for them (simple cremation, simple burial ceremony). There was no pressure to spend more money in great contrast to when I buried my mother. They worked with a frustratingly incompetent and understaffed cemetery, they were immense help when I was just overwhelmed with grief and frustration. They worked with a hospital that just doesn't care about people. They worked with a family that wasn't a lot of help or support for me. At times, I felt like they were the only sympathetic people during the whole nightmare of my father dying. I really liked their online obituary. They didn't make any money off this either:
My cousins needed to wake their mom, and of course, this funeral home is near them. When someone passes, this is the time that they can be taken advantage of, not here! They are beautiful inside the establishment. Very tasteful furniture and even their kitchen is elevated. But what I really like is the kindness and compassion they give to their clients. They show genuine compassion and don't push you to leave. Even when the service ended, they respected the fact that my relatives were mourning and didn't push them to leave. I found that so kind. The value was very competitive with other funeral homes, and considering they are suburban establishment, they definitely gave you value.
