My family lost my father. While Dad was at home with hospice care and other family my Mom, myself and my siblings went out to look at places for my Dad. This was the first one we went to. From the moment we walked in we were impressed. We were greated by the warm, friendly staff. We didn't look elsewhere and decided we were going to use them. We liked that only one service happened at a time, we liked the trees around the outside of the building as Dad is an outdoor person. When Dad passed and they came to pick him up, they were very kind and gentle to him. We went to the facility the same day they picked Dad up to plan everything. We met with one of the staff that was there to pick Dad up. She was so kind and patient with us making our decisions. The day of the service we walked in and went to look at Dad. The facility did a great job making Dad look like Dad (he was very sickly looking and very skinny upon passing). They listened to what we said about his outfit we picked for him and put everything now we wanted it (flannel open with the grandkids shirt showing). The slide show that they put on with the pictures we provided turned out great. They had easels out for us to put poster boards with the pictures. When we looked at the place, I didn't realize they have a little play room for kids. That was so nice because we had several kids at the service. The staff were so friendly and caring for us during this most difficult time. My Dad's service was just last night (January 22, 2025) so everything is still fresh for me but I am beyond impressed with this facility. If you are looking for a place that will make you feel comfortable during the hard times, I would recommend DeFiore Funeral & Cremation Service!!
I don't know why they only limit ratings to just five stars. DeFiore deserves more than 5 stars ratings. I personally will give it as much stars I can manage to gather from the sky. Their service allows your family just to grieve. They don't do aggressive selling, they let their compassion, professionalism and empathy do the talking. When you get their service they will take care of everything for you. We never regret we got their services on our son's passing. To their entire staff especially Carol, thank you.
Carol DeFiore ... Compassionate and Caring (with a capital "C"). Observant to details. Adds special touches that we weren't expecting. Took care of EVERYTHING we needed including the transporting of our loved one for the out of state burial. We are confident this review will be read by many and that those readers will not hesitate to contact this most gracious professional, (and her assistant, "Julie") when the need arises.
