Abbey is not only great with creating beautiful hair styles with her hands, but very intelligent to know how to color-correct and apply the perfect toner. Come see Abbey!! Highly recommend her and this salon!
Abbey Tannura recently did my wedding hair and I couldn’t be happier, she not only executed my wedding hair vision but all my bridesmaids as well, with the help of her partner Ashley Esposito. If you need bridal party hair I definitely recommend booking with Abbey & Ashley. They were on time and ready to go, worked like machines, cranking out all of our styles in a timely matter ahead of schedule. Both girls did an amazing job at giving all of the girls their preferred hair styles, so much so that all their hair lasted till the very end of the night after crazy dancing! Hair is so important to me as someone that loves to do my own hair for my everyday life, so I really put my trust in these girls for my bridesmaids and my own wedding day hair and they executed all of our requested hair styles amazingly! As the bride I was particularly picky about every aspect of my hair style and Abbey had the patience to pull, adjust, pin or whatever I wanted to every little piece of hair to accommodate my wants. She even started cutting my side bangs on the spot to make them more even for the updo - insane in the best way! Couldn’t recommend Abbey and Ashley more for your wedding day hair needs!
We have been coming to Sloane Stevens for a while now. They have been our go-to for everything from routine haircuts to special occasions. We had a particular experience yesterday though that absolutely blew me away. My daughter had her makeup done and then her hair for her first homecoming. Emily Hulbert was who did her hair after one of the other stylists (who I can't remember her name...sorry!) did the makeup. After Emily was done, my daughter said she liked it and we left. As soon as we got in the car, my daughter broke down saying she didn't like how the hair turned out. My daughter has severe anxiety and OCD as well as sensory processing disorder, but you would never know it just meeting her. But due to those issues, these type of things spiral super fast. I pulled back into the parking spot and went back inside as Emily was cleaning up (we were the last clients for ANYONE that day). I started to cry and explained the situation to which Emily said just bring her back in! I went to the car to my basically inconsolable daughter and explained Emily would fix the hair, but at this point her makeup had been ruined as well....😔 My daughter was in a panic and now feeling bad and guilty that "everything was ruined", but Emily actually came out to the car and patted her on the back and said "honey, I want you to have an amazing time tonight, let's go fix everything. " My daughter almost immediately calmed down, Emily gave her a big hug and said treasure a deep breath, and we went back inside for her to fix both hair and makeup ( makeup that she didn't even do!). Emily proceeded to walk her through step by step, asking at every step if things were right and the way she liked it. In the end, she spent an extra hour or more fixing everything and my daughter left super happy. As a mom to a child with these issues, to have someone take the time to not only understand and make her feel comfortable, but also give up so much of her time just to "make it right" (even when the initial hairdo and makeup was stunning), it made me so happy I cried! Emily was amazing and went above and beyond any expectations I could have had. I'm trying to put into words what it meant to me yesterday bc it could have gone so bad, but she not only made it right, she did so while also making my daughter feel like it was ok...and that was huge for her! And to top it off, my daughter looked amazing at the end of it all and was so happy! So thank you Emily! You made this mamas heart happy! ❤️ Also, let me mention that we did not know Emily prior to this appointment... so to have the interaction that we did without her even knowing much about my daughter, speaks volumes of the kind of person she is!
