If I could give this hospital 0 stars I would. If your having a baby please go to a different hospital and network. Especially if you need Maternal Fetal Medicine. You're suppose to be somewhat high priority when dealing with MFM but every time I went there I seen a midwife and I never got clear instructions on handle situations and they treated my SCH like it wasn't a big deal. I lost my baby due to the neglectfulness of care at this clinic. I could go on and on of all the things that went wrong. But the one thing that sticks out was when I was discharged I had a miscarriage, D&C surgery & I was in ICU because they gave me the wrong medication that stopped me from breathing for 2 days and yet the nurse claimed there were no wheel chairs available to bring me out so I had to walk to the car. What kind of patient care is that! Like I said in the very beginning if you want your baby don't go to Northshore University Hospital Evanston!
We unfortunately this hospital is some nursing staff with terrible attitudes and talk to patients/family members with no tact. I came to NorthShore with my husband because this is supposed to be one of the best. We got to the emergency department before the rush, well before 8 am, and we were able to get a room in the back rather quickly. We were quickly greeted by the floor doctor and my husband was able to give the necessary bloodwork. But after that they went downhill. We had to ring the staff button multiple times before someone came to see what we needed. The response from the people that came into the room quickly became your nurse will address your issue when she comes into the room. Unfortunately the nurse assigned to my husband had the worst attitude and was so flustered. I understood it had become randomly busy but the nurse was very short with me when I asked a simple question. I don't think I'll ever recommend making the drive to this "elite" hospital when I've been treated better at the neighborhood hospitals that may not be so highly ranked.
Came to emergency with my child because school nurse said my child is in pain with kidney and needs testing as soon as possible . The male nurse put us on 3 hours waiting time and said kidney are not important and let 10 people go before us . My child and I felt exhausted and I felt it was not fair for us . My child fall asleep on the chair and I was crying from despair.
