Do not even try to make a online appointment many of the doctors office will not call you. All they care about is your money not your health. I been nauseous for over 5 years instead of finding out why my doctor just gives me nauseous medication. I have many doctors from 15 years to 1 year from Alexian brothers in Elk Grove which I am in the process of getting all my doctors out of Elmhurst because they seem to care more. When I had my last surgery to remove lung lobe that was cancer the nurses were not good at all. The lung surgeon would come in for a minute and leave. I have heart doctors, lung doctors, GI doctor, primary care doctor and ENT doctor and the only one that seems to really care is my ENT doctor. I am allergic to the old contrast dye before covid they had new contrast dye and I was fine now they use the old contrast dye that sent me to the emergency room twice BAD REACTION !
The doctors, for the most part, are competent and understanding. However, the facility is lacking. The only seating provided in patient rooms are folding chairs. Pretty difficult to deal with after several hours. Also, communication between doctors and the staff is poor. Orders get lost and patients sometimes are in pain when they shouldn't be. The nursing staff, for the most part, seem cold and uncaring. Finally, the patient I'm seeing is dying. The hospital doctor who visited was asked to step out into the hallway to speak to the family. She refused and insisted on talking to the patient directly. By the time she got done the patient was sobbing and demanding to sign out AMA without supportive pain meds. I thought she bordered on cruel.
doctors at Alexian Brothers come in to my room at 4pm on Christmas Day and proceed to tell me there sending me home. Good thing under normal circumstances, how ever it's Christmas. My family is not home and having come in by ambulance I have no house key or wallet. I advise the dr who never bothered to introduce himself that I have no way to get home nor a key to the house His response was not my problem call a lock smith. I said to him can I wait til my family can come get me. He replied no and not having a key is no reason to stay you need to leave. You kept your food down so you got to leave. Inside I lost it. Attempted to call admin. Oh wait it's Sunday and Christmas day. There not in. So now I sit at home still in stomach pain with a script for pain killer that can't be filled because... It's Christmas day. Worst experience ever. #worsehospitalever
