About Open Door Health Center of Illinois
Open Door Health Center of Illinois provides essential healthcare services, primarily focusing on the HIV+ population. They offer STI testing, case management, behavioral health services, and referrals. The staff is described as friendly and caring, creating a welcoming environment for patients. One patient highlighted the exceptional service of the risk assessment and testing administrator, while another praised healthcare professional Josh Lopez for his dedication and accessibility. Despite past management issues, the hope remains that the clinic has improved for both staff and clients.
Have been a patient off and on from 1996.
Will say i was treated alot better back in 96 then recently.
Highly disappointed in how much they have scaled back their programs.
Joanna Ruiz always go above anyone else there. She gets answers & solves problems, something the director & other social workers during & post Covid, have not. All in all its an amazing suburban office for the LGBTQ communities, for those of us unable to go into the City Of Chicago University Hospitals any longer.
I worked here as a medical case manager from 2014-2020; at the time we primarily served the HIV+ population here, helping those who need access to healthcare & medication. We also had STI testing, case management, behavioral health services, & referrals to local dental offices. Open Door also went to local community events as part of outreach & prevention. We had people here who truly cared about the patients & clients who came to our clinic. I left in mid-2020 due to change in management that sadly made the clinic a toxic environment to work in. I hope they have turned things around since then for staff & clients' sake.
