My family discovered Dr. Pirtle in 2000 with our beagle. Pupper had been shot by a pellet and our vet couldn’t see him urgently so we took him to Pirtle after calling around. Dr. Pirtle saved Puppers life! Years later when Pupper got cancer Dr. Pirtle gently put him down. I remember him saying “he’s gone” as compassionate as possible afterwards. I’ve stayed with Dr. Pirtle ever since. I moved to Marion for a few years and drove my beagle Rider to keep up the trend, when friends said I was “nuts” for driving 35 miles one way for Rider to see a Vet. Dr. Pirtle is a treasure and DQ has been so lucky to have him. I trust him with everything he recommends for...read full review
I have been bringing both of my kitties here since they were kittens 6 years ago! Recently one of them became pretty sick and Dr. Pirtle took the time to talk to me on the phone about it and when i brought her in he gave her meds and ran some tests and she was better within days. They have also had small issues in the past that have always been cared for and treated perfectly. I recently moved out of perry county, but i still make the drive with my kitties so they can come to see him.
10 years ago I took in a new kitten and within 2 weeks she was near death. Dr. Pirtle diagnosed her with FIV and was able to give her the care needed to bring her back from the brink of death. Now that she is older she has digestive issues, due to the FIV, and she requires 2 shots every 6-8 weeks. When my cat shows signs that she needs the shots, I call and Savannah and Dr. Pirtle always get me an appointment immediately. Both of them are so caring and wonderful to deal with.
