“This is my 2nd time coming to this shop and I am a FOREVER customer!! I got waist length smedium knotless braids 1B/27 and TOLA SMOKED MY HAIR!!!!! It is flawless! To be honest, while getting my braids done I watched all of the stylist in there and THEY ALL SMOKED THEIR CLIENTS HAIR! Didn't matter if they were doing locs,braids,crochets, or sew-ins. “THE BEST. I travel over an hour (each way!) to get my hair done by Erika. I first went to Erika when she was at a salon 5 minutes from my house. I had been highlighting my hair for 20 years and many different salons. I always had damage from highlighting and to combat the damage I tried everything - expensive shampoos, olaplex, satin pillow cases, washing less, not putting in ponytails, you name it. I tried doing a base bump in between each highlight appointment. Nothing worked. I originally went to Erika for cuts for a year and she would try to clean up the damage from highlighting. She probed me more about how my other salon was coloring and told me there was no need to constantly put highlights in all the time. You can touch up with base bumps and only do highlights a few times a year. I asked why no one ever told me this and realized it was because salons make so much more money from highlights and cross selling you all the products you need to try to fix the damage. Erika started doing more bare bumps and less highlights and a year later I had no damage and color just as bright and good as it was with highlights all the time. I could not believe that 20 years of highlights with at least 7 different salons and she was the first to be honest with me. Shortly after she told me the color trick, she moved to a salon in Mokena, so now I travel from the Oak Park River Forest area to go to Erika. She is simply the best. Amazing color and cuts. I will never go to anyone else!“
