We wanted to build a carriage walk or landing step (the small strip of concrete adjacent to the curb) but because that area belongs to the city, we needed a permit; and in order to get that type of permit, you need a contractor licensed by CDOT (Chicago Department of Transportation) for public way construction. If you have ever tried looking for one, you know there is no such list. I had to email and call concrete contractors asking if they held such a license and whether they would do a project of this size. I was lucky to find Yoakin of D&D, who told me he can apply for the permit (which I’ll have to pay for if the city approves) and quoted me a price for the concrete...read full review

I'm a Chicago builder with 20 years experience. I've worked with many, many contractors and D&D is one of my best subs, been working together almost 10 years. They are the only crew I can trust with complicated projects like underpins. Every guy on the crew has a great attitude and is incredibly hard working.
