I followed Dr. Davis from the U. Of I. Vet Clinic to AHATC when he began this veterinary practice. I'm not even sure what year that was. I'm 85, so you know I am extremely happy with the competence and care all our dogs (and cats) have received. I have found warm and welcoming professionals from the receptionists, vet techs, and veterinarians throughout the many years I have been coming to this vet practice. The same has been true since Dr. Davis retired and Dr. Stoerger has continued the practice. Every time I've had to make that awful decision a pet owner often faces, I have been supported and eased through euthanizing a beloved furry member of our family, this practice has supported me with their combined veterinary skills, their empathy, and their understanding for my loss. My most recent experience in dealing with my Murphy's struggle with cancer, I was able to get through it with their support and caring. Dr. Stoerger came to my home with a vet tech and told me to let her know when I was ready. (You're not ever really "ready" to lose your friend and companion, but you know it's the last caring thing you can do for them, and I was given the gift of Dr. Stoerger's understanding and empathy for my loss. She has cared for Murphy, my beagle mix, from 2012 when I adopted him until his recent euthanasia. When the mass was discovered in his lung, she told me of the cancer division at U. Of I. Veterinarian Medical School, who were wonderful as well. When I took him there, she shared his medical records with them. In his illness and euthanasia, she was so tender with him--and with me--that I felt comforted, and I know Murphy was as well. I highly and confidently recommend Dr. Stoerger and this practice who will make your pet and you feel not only welcome, but confident in their hands. received. She shared his
I got my dog andy from a lady who was very nice. she let me know he had anxity. I do as well so Its ok with me. I set an apointment with this vet because that is where they said he was already going. I had not had a dog in many years, so I had only been to the vet to take my cousins dog in for surgery. They were very nice and took their time with andy. They knew he was scared, and worked with me.. Also I had left my wallett at home, they let me sit outside with my dog, rather then sit inside and bother him. It was very kind of them. As I did at that moment owe them around 200$ for meds and stuff. But they allowed me to go w8 in my car with my dog, for my mother to bring me my wallett. They are very very wonderful, and thoughtful. If you have an issue, if you just explain it to them rationally, they seem perfectly willing and able to help and work with you. I just want to say thanks and leave this review. I will be trying the grooming services next week or so, as andy has some long nails, and he does not like me to get close to them with the clippers :-D
My wife, our cat, and I had our first experience at AHATC today. Let me start by saying I've been a vet tech for almost a decade and have zero professional/personal affiliation with this or any veterinary service in the state of Illinois and I can honestly say, if you're someone that stakes all opinions on reviews, please don't pay attention to anything negative about this clinic. The very few negative reviews on google/Yelp don't sound legitimate, they seem begrudged and inaccurate. We were immediately acknowledged when walking in, the woman behind the desk was on the phone but made sure to let us know she saw us, awesome! We emailed them records, they didn't get them, they were very polite, not irritated or annoyed, we sent them again and all was well. Our technician was super knowledgeable and kind and definitely made us feel welcome. Our DVM was also wonderful, engaged, caring, an all around pleasure. This really is a nice clinic with very nice and kind people, I truly recommend it to anyone looking for a thorough and caring veterinary facility. It's hard for me to step back and not be the technician but this clinic made me feel much more comfortable than I expected anyone could.
