About Christie Clinic Convenient Care on Windsor
Christie Clinic Convenient Care on Windsor provides a mixed experience for patients. While the nurses and physicians are attentive and helpful, the clinic faces issues with efficiency and communication. Patients have reported long wait times, sometimes up to two hours, to see a doctor. However, those who have been able to see a provider have generally had positive experiences, with the doctors being thorough, respectful, and taking the time to address all concerns. The clinic's policy of waiting until a room is available, rather than having patients wait in a room full of sick people, is also appreciated. Unfortunately, some patients have encountered issues with billing and coding, leading to problems with insurance coverage. Overall, the clinic provides competent medical care, but could benefit from improvements in wait times and communication with patients.
We've never had a bad experience with Christie Clinic Convenient Care. It's usually the one in Urbana, though I was in Champaign this past weekend for a follow-up. Never a problem with billing or insurance; our primary care doctors are with Christie. The Convenient Care staff has always been efficient, but respectful with good communication. Yes, I'm sure the wait can sometimes be long. They never know what and when is going to walk in their door, and of course need to take the time necessary for each patient. Out of four visits this weekend (see below), only one (on a Sunday afternoon) had more than a 30 minute wait. Most less. But I want to give a particular shout out to Dr Robert Johnston. I was in for an injury that was more severe than I realized. Not critical, but worrying. He was great. Very professional and explained my situation well; answering all of my confusions. He responded to humor with humor. He discussed all my options with me, and ultimately kept me from needing to go to the ER or see a specialist.
