“When I first came to this academy, I showed up draped in another academy’s gear with the intention to just stay for a couple months and return to my old team. Many years later I’m still here and never looked back. Professor Christian and the coaches here have elevated my game and made jiu jitsu one of the biggest achievements to date. Highly recommend for anyone to come learn from the best!“

“This year marks my 50th year studying Martial Arts. Throughout the entire time I have donated my services touching many lives. I have seen Black Belt factories, I have seen legitimate schools, Copy cats and "Businesses" of Martial Arts. While during my training that started in the early 1970's, my focus was on developing tomorrows leaders today. My daughter came to me for assistance in finding a program that was the best for her son building a strong solid base to achieve and be successful in all aspects of his future. Five years later, starting at 4 years old, he has been thriving not only in Taekwondo but in other sports. This Martial Art school not only developed my grandson, It has given me the opportunity to "Get on the mat" and contribute my old school Taekwondo philosophies to the new. Master Bryan Razo and his students have given their hearts to my family. Truly, "If you tried the rest, It's time for the best"! Sincerely, Master David Roth“

“My wife heard about this place from a friend. It came very highly recommended so we immediately took our children to sign up. The first time we went, they let my kids join in the class without worrying about payment or anything. This was nice because we wanted to make sure our kids liked the place and felt comfortable. The environment and atmosphere was very friendly, positive and welcoming. Our kids loved it immediately! We registered our kids on the same day and have been going for a couple of weeks now. This school is very highly recommended and they have classes for all ages and at different days and times throughout the week.“

Dragon Budo Jujutsu Martial Arts Academy, 2021-25 E 95th St, Chicago
Dragon Budo Jujutsu Martial Arts Academy Martial Arts Schools

“I've been studying and training at the DBJ dojo for nearly two years and it's been one of the best combat experiences! This is coming from a 4 year wrestler who also has nearly 2 years of boxing (training only), minor Judo trianing in Cameroon, and a handful of months at a Gracie Academy. Not only does the dojo uphold its set principles and values, but it also pushes its students to do the same. Strikes are taught off the rip because they're woven into the curriculum; and by extension, your technique. Under Grandmaster Starks, if you take it seriously, you'll become a legit student under the Gyawn Atiko Jujutsu system-a more traditional style of Jujutsu. Belts aren't given; we're students, hence the set tests we take to earn our promotions. In addition to the mats, full boxing ring, and MMA cage, the DBJ dojo fully embraces a healthy fight culture while creating the next generation of strong and dedicated warriors. While I could go on and on, I'll end by saying you just have to come try it for yourself! Here is a short clip of how it be!https://youtu.be/bzI6Z7X4t3A?feature=shared“

“(indepth review)Feeling desperate to lose weight and gain discipline, a friend of mine recommended this place. The trainers were nice enough to let me try one class for free to get a feel of things. After the class I was absolutely dead. I was tired. Exhausted. Some muscles that I didn't know I had were burning. This is a good thing. I haven't felt like this for years. Immediately I signed up for 2 years. It is difficult, yes. You will be exhausted. You will be taken out of your comfort zone. You will work muscles that you didn't think existed but I guarantee that you will feel alive and will come back for more. When you sign up you will be given two uniform shirts and a pair of boxing gloves for free. Think of this place like a streaming service. You pay a subscription and you get access to a bunch of movies and tv shows (in this case classes). You can do Boxing, kickboxing, etc etc. There are more advanced classes that you need to be approved to attend. These will have a red font. A blue font is for kids. A black font is for teens and adults.Class may go something like this:The first 10ish minutes is jogging, stretches, push ups, etc.You get a 1 minute transition period to drink some water (BRING WATER) and your gloves. You'll train, usually in pairs. This means you actually have to go up to someone and ask "Hey want to be partners?" Then after class you may do some stretches and then the fun is over.I can really feel like I am progressing and getting stronger. I have more confidence and self control. So is it worth it? Absolutely. Will it push you to your limits? Yes.edit: I still come here. Best decision I've ever made in my life. I am much more flexible than before.“

“I started my 5 year old during fall 2021 and he utterly enjoys the training. He started in Capoeira Saturdays and Sundays, and just decided to begin Judo and Karate this week. The instructors are top-notch and ready to teach. Also-- you can do ALL the martial arts for one fee. There's no where in Chicago with that type of affordability. - Dr. V.“
