We looked at many fence companies that could or would build a custom fence that would match the style of our home (and at a fair price). We found this with Ideal Fence. As with all the companies we spoke with, lead time was around three weeks. Once they were ready to start, they did and outstanding job and completed a fence that exceeded our expectations within 2 1/2 days. It looks amazing and blends well with our yard and house. We've received dozens of compliments from neighbors on how nice the fence looks and how it goes so well with our house -- like as if it was always there. Mind you, our house is almost 120 years old, but the new fence matches the time period of the early 1900s. We were very pleased with the crew too. They did an excellent job and I would highly recommend them. Best of all, our dogs really love the fenced in yard too.
We had Ideal install half of our fence in 2012 when our next door neighbor in 2015 moved away we did that half of our fence. We have a full red cedar fence including the posts. The fence still looks great now (2023) and the installation was done very professionally, and Kevin was very helpful and equally professional. The probelm lies in the posts. We have stained and re-stained as needed but the posts have rotted at the base from moisture. In 2021 we replaced one post $210. In 2022 three more were replaced. There are other posts now are showing signs of rot, and are soon to be replaced. I would recommend either using treated pine posts with cedar fence material, or using a protective sleeve to protect them from rot. These sleeves I have found online for approximately $7.50 apiece. We are now in 2023 going to relace at least 2 more posts. Kevin informed us at some point it would be cheaper to replace the whole fence than to just replace the rotting posts a few at a time, which is correct. The whole problem could have been eliminated by sleeving, or by using treated posts. FYI
Awesome, awesome, awesome. The whole team. Awesome! They were 3 weeks ahead of schedule and I couldn't be happier. Thanks Maria, Kevin, and the absolutely hardworking installers. Now, time to fix up my ugly deck to match my gorgeous fence :DService: Wood fence installation
