“I can't tell you how helpful Mark has been. A absolute godsend! And get this - I don't live in the area. I'm in Pennsylvania. So why American Beam and Steel, all the way out in Chicago? Because I had questions and I needed answers. Answers that I wasn't able to get here. We're removing several load-bearing walls to open up living space in our home. I saw all the many online positive reviews and happy clients, so I gave it a shot. Mark answered the phone, and even though I'm not a prospective client, he was happy to offer me whatever help he could and answer all my questions. He set me on the right path and offered sound advice. He has followed up and we continue to keep in contact as I work through this process with an architect, contractor and a steel fabricator in my area. Without that call to Mark and his company, I would be lost in this process. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. 10 stars!“

“I can't recommend Keen Construction enough... I needed to move walls & doors to create a larger primary bedroom closet with W/D hookup from 3 smaller closets (prior to moving into our new house). I'm skeptical of choosing a company off the internet so I read all of the reviews I could find about Keen Construction and chose them because there were NO bad reviews (not even one I could find).We met the next day (THU) at the house to discuss details so Darren could provide an estimate which arrived via email later that day. I was waiting until Monday to contact Darren and tell him we wanted to move forward with the project but Darren reached out that Sunday that they could start the project THE NEXT DAY since we didn't require any permits, etc. We didn't have time to clear out the 3 closets so Darren and Mark did it for us on Monday.I'm still amazed at how smoothly everything went and how quickly they were able to complete the project. After taping and skimming the closet and 2 rooms (where doors/walls were moved), I had them paint the closet and leave the 2 rooms unpainted since we haven't yet decided on our colors - getting a refund for that work. The great thing is that the rooms require no prep and we can simply paint them as soon as we make our decision.I will definitely be calling Darren for our other construction projects AFTER we move in... I chatted with Mark one day during construction about our upcoming needs and am very excited that I will NOT need to search the internet and "take my chances" in the future. If you are searching for a contractor, please (at a minimum) let Darren provide an estimate!!“

They show up on time, work steady, and clean up when they're done. His prices are fair because he doesn't leave things out when he bids. “I highly recommend Pete and his crew from SWS. We had major storm damage and decided to go with the Google reviews as opposed to the dozens of contractors that came door-to-door. There are four reasons I'd recommend SWS: 1) Communication - the owner Pete gave me his cell phone and responded immediately day or night with any questions we had; very easy to schedule both roof and gutters and always responsive; 2) Care/Quality - We have an in-ground pool and bar setup near the house; Pete came by the day before the roof install with his crew to personally ensure everything was well-protected from nails and the related debris that comes with any roofing job - everything was protected and the cleanup was very well done; his foreman Nick was also a true professional and took pride in his crew doing high quality work 3) Details - Pete and team handled the permitting very quickly and we were one of the first houses completed (others waited months for permits). When we were picking out shingles, it was hard to make a decision based on the brochures, so he gave us multiple addresses in the area with the actual shingles we had narrowed down to. Once we saw them the decision was easy; 4) Honesty - we had a pre-approved claim from insurance and shared openly it with Pete. He could have taken full advantage but instead was very honest and fair in what was billed. He also got the paperwork in quickly to insurance which helped in getting the claim processed.
