Tyler is a great hair stylist!!! He was able to get me in fairly quick for a haircut during the busy preparation into the holidays. Not only did he give me the best haircut/beard trim I’ve had, but he was very personable and easy to talk with. Also, he is very reasonably priced. I expect my cost to be more than it was for the quality he did.He also has some great home decor you can buy and take home to your spouse. Highly recommend getting your haircut with Tyler. West Des Moines Barbershop, located off Grand Ave. just west of Val Air Ballroom, is a small but great place to get a haircut. Recommended to me, I decided to give this place a try due to its price and proximity to my home. It did not disappoint. Truc is my barber and she has always done a fantastic job. I get a simple taper cut but I'm positive she's great at other styles as well. To top it off, she ends each cut with a neck shave and hot towel. She has even gone above and beyond for me when I had a scheduling conflict. You'll need to schedule an appointment ahead of time for availability. And they do offer other services as well. Entered the franchise at the prescribed time for a trim. The stylist was not on the premise. After a wait time of twenty minutes beyond my appointment, the franchise owner-Big Rob -- arrived -- assessed my predicament and agreed to trim my hair, the trim was outstanding which changed the initial attitude of not my problem to one of immediate resolution. My kids have gotten their haircut by Kevin for years now. They love him. He always remembers that they both play hockey. They talk hockey the entire time. He is the absolute best. My wife went here and it looked really good so I thought why not try it! I have a large beard and plenty of body hair so I thought it was a bit of an experiment but the end result I think is even better than hers. No issues with body hair and a shaved head.
I did the fast tan and unless I look to see the line it all is blended so well it’s hard to tell it’s not just a tan.
Is it worth it? Up to you, not inexpensive for a couple day tan (not tested longevity yet) but if want a totally natural looking spray I don’t see how it could be better.

I tried Chic, but they had a large wedding party on one side using almost all their workers. there were 8 chairs open but no more workers. I was originally told 15 minutes as a walk in, but then told to one back in 45minutes. NO thanks. Went down the street to Nails For You and got right in. Awesome job! Warm lotion!!!! I had never had that. Simple and thorough service for a pedicure. I always get regular polish so I have to give it time to dry.

Best nail salon I’ve found in the metro area. Very friendly staff who do great work, clean facilities and I’ve never had issues with my nails breaking or chipping off.
Tip is fantastic. She does an impeccable job with the nails. I get so many comments on how great my nails look and I’m always happy to say I get them at Fancy Nails, and with Tip. But more importantly, she is super conscious and aware of my allergies. She always makes sure that I will be able to go into the salon without having an allergic reaction. I appreciate this so much. It actually allows me to get my nails done.

I've been on the hunt for a nail salon that has a calm environment and a technician who can do beautiful design work, get my nails as sharp as I want them, and takes care of the edges and underside of the nails for almost a year now and had almost given up until I went to Purelux for a fill and repair.
Holly worked on my nails and was incredibly thorough. She measured them against each other, switched drill tips several times between filing and smoothing my nails, made sure underneath my nails were clean and smooth, and understood what I wanted in designs between her designs and what I showed her on my phone.
As someone who understands Vietnamese, when I go to luxury nail bars and salons, I don't have a relaxing and luxury experience because I can understand the technicians teasing the person who works on my nails for taking too long or about how difficult I am for wanting designs or multiple colors, and it's incredibly off putting. I didn't experience that here and it makes me look forward to my next appointment.

I came in from Chicago for a refresh trip and oh my goodness was I surprised by the service and treatment I received! I was so relaxed, I feel asleep and did not wake up until almost the end of my services (gel overlay and pedicure)... I will be returning next month and getting services again!
I enjoy Lynn's Nails...been coming here for years. Now owned by Kathy and her husband. Quality and consistency! Make an appointment if you don't want to risk waiting. Known for their excellent pedicures but Amy is my go to gal for my nails! Although Kathy (owner) can do the more intricate nail art, Amy is very nice and attentive. Prices are fair.

Justine is the best and really makes you feel comfortable when it's your first spray tan. She made the whole process smooth and easy. I've received a lot of compliments since no one could tell it was a spray tan. There were no streaks or more color in one section over another. She checks on you the next day to make sure you are happy with the color. I also did the bikini wax and for the first time ever, it didn't hurt at all. No irritation and no issues. I used to do Wax in the City and they would just hurry through to get the next client in, but not Justine. She spends time making sure it's correct and happy. First time at this spa and already have my next appointment booked! Her prices are wonderful too!

Outstanding massage. These folks are licensed by the state of Iowa and the city of West Des Moines, and it shows. They know a number of techniques and perform them with professional skill and enthusiasm. One important note: They've only been in service since the beginning of 2024. Before that, this business was owned and operated by others under the name of Green Bamboo. Their reviews were terrible and they were out of business for over a year, so any reviews prior to 2024 should not be attributed to New Life.

It was time for our 29+ year old deck to be replaced. We had our old wood deck, railing, and screens removed and Trex planking and railing installed. Westbury Screenrails provide an updated replacement for the wood screen doors that were used to screen the lower deck. The ten day project started day after Labor Day and finished on schedule Monday September 18th. The workmanship was excellent. I moved to Iowa and needed to find a new dentist. I really didn't think I'd find a place that met the same caliber of service I received in Chicago (which is supposed to be better because it's bigger right?!?! WRONG!). I'm so glad Country Club dental proved me wrong!! The front staff here is superb. They are friendly and available to answer questions. It has always been easy to schedule and reschedule my appointments. I also have not had any problems with them accepting my insurance. They even offer a membership plan so that you don't need insurance to have dental services here if you become a member! I was seen by Dr. Gray and his assistant Sammie. Both are absolutely fabulous. They are very friendly, funny, and personable. Two weeks ago I had a dental cleaning. Sammie was very gentle taking topical pictures of my teeth. I think there was another device used to detect the density of my teeth too. I was impressed (and never got this type of service in Chicago!). They really check for everything here! Dr. Gray thoroughly reviewed my teeth, X-rays, gum recession and density and photos of my teeth. I was really impressed with the examination and the technology used here. They really care about dental health. At the end of my appointment I was even given an option of a manual toothbrush or a sonicare type replacement head for my electric toothbrush. WHAT?!!? My mind was blown that I had these options! During my appointment I had mentioned that my Chicago dentist had recommended to fill cavities of two of my wisdom teeth and that I wanted to move forward with that procedure. I also mentioned that I was prescribed some special toothpaste to prevent further decay and wanted that refilled. Dr. Gray immediately called in the prescription to my pharmacy to refill the toothpaste and we scheduled another appointment for a cavity filling. Done and done! Today....two weeks later...I just got my two cavities filled and felt compelled to write this Yelp review for Dr Gray and his team at Country Club Dental (and these days I'm only writing reviews for those places that are truly special to me). I'm not the type of person that is usually scared of the dentist, but I was anxious today because of my small mouth and possible difficulty maneuvering within the small space. But they had all the tools necessary to make this experience SO EASY. My small mouth was not an issue at all and I did not feel any pain! I had to open my eyes every so often just to check if my mouth was still being worked on because I was so comfortable and didn't feel anything during the procedure! They also had a device (that amazed me because I never had it in Chicago) that allowed me to comfortably rest my mouth, while still keeping it open, and sucked up the particles/water in my mouth during the procedure. I'll be annoyed if Dr. Gray gets booked up because of this review but life isn't all about me so I'll be okay to share him and his team. ;-) I initially heard about Country Club dental from a friend who raved about Dr. Fung. I'm sure all the dentists here are wonderful but I'm sticking with Dr. Gray. =)

I recently became a new patient of Dr Phelan Thomas, DDS. In the initial consultation, he explained in detail the condition of my teeth, bones and gums. After the initial visit, I knew exactly what was to be done and what the cost would be. I was also pleasantly surprised to learn that I would not have to have my remaining teeth extracted as I had been previously advised by another dentist office. Dr. Thomas is very much an experienced and competent Dentist who treats his patients with kindness and compassion utilizing modern dental techniques to alleviate discomfort and pain and assures that the the expected high quality results are achieved. Dr. Thomas is by far the best kept secret in the Des Moines area.

I highly recommend Thiele Chiropractic to anyone! He is very professional, and his hours are accommodating for almost any schedule. Great location too! I appreciate his style - good listener on what hurts, good explainer as to what he thinks is needed. He's a super nice guy and fun to talk to, too!
The first time I contacted them I was able to get in quickly. I just had a need to go back and was seen the same day. The treatment I was given each time has been exactly what I needed. Dr. Andrew is great at explaining what is going on and how to get it better. The office staff has also been great to work with. I highly recommend this Chiropractic Office.
I cannot say enough good things about this place! Dr. Zimmerman is incredible and his entire staff there is there to help. I've never felt comfortable at a chiropractor and when I leave this office I feel amazing. I know I'm in good hands. You can get Total body health there. Today I met with the physical therapist and learned a ton of new stretches to help me stay mobile for years to come. Highly highly recommend!!
Dr. Nick is the best chiropractor I know. He does an excellent job and always listens to exactly what you need. I have gone to him for my pregnancy pains and nothing fixes my hip like an adjustment from dr. Nick. I cannot recommend him enough!

If you haven't had a Hydrofacial from Skin Iowa PC you are missing out. I went in and had one done about 2 days before an event I was going to speaking at. My skin was glowing, bright, & hydrated. Thanks ladies!

Dr. Benham truly understands my quirky cats and has offered many way to help each of them with their different issues. From one being too heavy (she isn't fat, she is fluffy) to another cat reaching the end of his journey here on earth, the staff has taken great care of not only our pets, but taken care of us as a family.
Dr. Lloyd has been taking exceptional care of my four cats since I moved to WDM. Having visited several vets before her, I can confidently say that none have matched the depth of knowledge she has shared with me about my cats' health. She consistently goes above and beyond. I trust her expertise, and I wouldn't consider taking my cats to any other vet.
Brought my dog here for an echocardiogram, and they were wonderful. The cost was reasonable, the staff was friendly, and the care was too notch! My dog is high strung, and they were able to calm her enough that she didnt need sedation. Highly recommended!
All of the staff are very friendly and have been wonderful with both of our dogs that we have brought there! Anytime we need an appointment, they are very quick to get it scheduled and our dog seen. They are also reasonably priced. I highly recommend Grand Ave Vet! :)
How much I appreciate the care, kindness and support from the entire veterinarian staff is beyond words. The love they show this rescue guy is immeasurable.
They are absolutely amazing! All the staff is friendly and caring. They loved on my dog and really made us feel like we were important to them. They listened to all our concerns and gave us great answers to all our questions. I would DEFINITELY recommend taking your pet to see them!

Anna is amazing! our dog is a little difficult and is super hyper but she does so good with him and he loves her too. I highly recommend if your fur baby needs some extra patience while getting groomed.

I feel so lucky to have found Renee. She is really good at what she does! For my tight muscle issues, she is the perfect combination of deep tissue massage and fascia work. I wish I would have found her several years ago when I moved to Des Moines. Renee is a delight who really listens to you and provides the relief you need.
Keziah is the BEST massage therapist for prenatal massages. Her experience as a Doula and passion for women’s health makes her massages unmatched! Plus, she has the special massage bed where you can lay on your stomach during pregnancy… which is heaven!
I have had massages all over the United States and out of the country. Summer is the best therapist I have ever had. What is more, she is very intuitive when it comes to the body. She was the first one to realize something was off with my husband and suggested he be seen by a doctor. Turns out he had rib fractures from multiple myeloma. I almost didn't want to share a review as we want her for ourselves but she deserves it. She truly is the best. Needless to say, once we found her we never looked elsewhere and will be faithful clients of hers until she gets sick of us. :)

I received the best Deep Tissue massage from Ellies Massage that I have ever had.
Ellie’s new facility is very nice, comfortable and very clean! That last one is a big deal to me. Ellie was very prompt with my appointment and filled every minute with her obvious experience and skills. She uses many different techniques including her feet, hot stones, hot towels, hot oils... to get to muscles that needed work I didn’t even know were a problem.
I have been looking for a regular massage therapist and I finally found her.

Amazing providers. Receptionist staff is always so pleasant to talk to. I have major phone anxiety, and they've always managed to melt it away. These women have really helped me on my health journey - i couldnt imagine going anywhere else!
You wouid be hard to find a better more helpful and welcoming place for any kind of physical therapy. Jessica G was my therapist and she helped me more than 2 doctors I saw before coming here. She helped my situation so much I had to do a review. The whole staff is really really good people. If or when I need PT again I will be coming here forsure!!
