Took my little Shih Tzu mix for grooming. She's a 10 yo puppy mill survivor and I don't think she's ever had a professional groom, just hack jobs. They did a good job and Gracie seemed less stressed coming out than she did going in!
Today, Dec. 31, 2020 is a sad day for sure.Santonio, our gentle Pit/Lab? giant had to be euthanized today. We found him 12 years ago when he ran out of a field 2 miles south of Maquoketa on Hwy. #61 into the path of our truck. He was just a puppy. He smelled of oatmeal shampoo and had a new flea collar...such "caring" owners! This morning, his body, tired and riddled with cancer, could not take another day. The caring staff at Maquoketa Veterinary Clinic took him in with no notice and fit him into their busy schedule, on a Holiday, no questions asked. Long story short, Santonio need not suffer another day. R.I.P. 'Tonio. You were such a GOOD BOY! ??
This guy came from horrible people his sibling died and he was the only one left from the litter my daughter used all her birthday money for him. While the other vet could not get him in for days knowing his sibling just died and he was very sick. But this place fit him in and gave him treatment. With out this vet we would of lost our boy Milo he was only 3 weeks when we took him in and he is 9 now and very loved and well cared for. I have moved away but will be for ever grateful for them saving our boy.
