Des Moines Masonic Cemetery

Would be a negative five if it would let me. The Masonic cemetery is degrading of all cemeteries. WEEDS, not mowed. I hate to admit to people that's where family is. You look across street at Glendale and its pretty. If masons are so great then why aren't you taking care of your cemetery. Sorry but its true.

I go to the graves of my mother and son Weekly to take care of it and when I go there on Mother’s Day this is what it looks like. It’s a mess. These people do not care. They are inflexible and you can’t talk to anyone in charge to voice your concerns. They Board members are not available to speak to customers. I’m so over it. DO YOUR JOB!!!

My recently deceased father was a Des Moines mason for over 50 years. I recently visited his cremation site and the man who was string trimming had put his gas can and other tools on top of his stone. He came over and apologized. When I was ready to leave , he had placed his stuff on someone else's stone. I went and very nicely told him I thought that was very disrespectful of the dead. He said he did that so the gas wouldn't kill the grass. I would MUCH rather see dead grass! I might add my dad's stone is only 6-8 feet from the street. Please stop being disrespectful!!
