Everyone is friendly and fun to chat with while getting what you ask for. My daughter had much of her natural curls cut and layered for a much more flattering look on her. Gina has given me a great haircut and keeps my bangs manageable each time I go. Thanks all!
Jane is great about cutting my hair exactly like I want it. She sets me up an appointment in advance to cut my hair again so it will continue to look nice. Good atmosphere and fun people in the shop.
If you are somebody that wants a haircut without any shaming or hard selling, this is where you want to go. Burlington is my hometown. I live in Chicago, and made the decision to find a new hair person. I decided I could get my hair cut for cheap while visiting my hometown. I'm accustomed to paying $60-$80 plus tip for a cut in Chicago. I need a wash and go cut that accomodates my natural curls and greying, thinning hair. I have no plans to use any hair styling products or treatments. I get a lot of flack from some stylists, but not for long because I don't have to listen to that. My sister and I got done thrift shopping a little early, so we tried to find a hair salon that might work. But it was a Monday, so absolutely everybody was closed. Bummer. We checked Yelp and found Chics N Guys, noting it's right next door to a resale shop. We went there, it was open, and the window had a painted sign that said, "Walkins welcome." Yay! I walked in. No one was waiting. The place didn't smell like chemical treatments, and that's really important because I'm sensitive to that and always end up feeling ill after going to a salon. I didn't get sick this time. The person there was I assume the owner/operator. She was wearing jeans and her hair was styled in a grey ponytail. I think I found my new hair place. I told her what I wanted. She made some good suggestions. She cut my hair like she knew what she was doing. She asked if I wanted her to dry it, and I was happy to refuse. That almost never happens. I usually have to run home to wash out the mousse and the spray so I don't get skin reactions. I didn't have to do that this time. I paid her the $20 fee plus $5 tip and walked out thrilled. My hair dried naturally and still looks cute when I let it dry naturally a week later. I got exactly what I wanted and nothing I didn't for a fraction of the usual price. What more do you want?
