We live in Marshalltown and needed a landscaper who really understands retaining walls and drainage. This winter when the snow thawed, we had water in the basement. Two basement experts told us that our basement was leaking due to a grading issue that would likely take thousands in landscaping to rectify. However, this didn't make sense to me because the problem just recently started. Patrick traveled over from Ames to assess our problem. He suspected that it was an issue with a clogged underground downspout drain which was an easy fix. Months later after several rainy days, not a drop of water in our basement! We were out of town for the winter when he came over, so it would have been really easy for him to take advantage of the situation and try to sell us a landscaping job for thousands. He sent us a thorough explanation by Email and talked to me on the phone as well. He is very honest and he has a lot of expertise. He told me I didn't need to pay him for the visit, but I insisted on sending him a check for the consultation. Highly recommended!

We had a very challenging issue with a retaining wall that was installed by the previous owner of our house. It wasn’t built correctly and was starting to fail; threatening the gas line and AC unit on the west side of our house. Patrick was very responsive to our initial inquiry and offered a couple of creative options to repair/replace it. Due to the urgency of the project; he was able to carve out some time to complete it within a very reasonable period of time. I hired Central Landscape to install a paver patio in my backyard. Their price was very competitive. The work was top notch. My interactions with employees were always pleasant. I really wanted to give them 5 stars, but I removed one due to difficulty communicating prior to the project. E-mails and calls would often go unreturned. However, once the project began, communication was great. I plan to hire them again for the next project.
