“I tried Hairstyles by Noe behind Jack in the Box for the first time right after surfing. I had not had a haircut in almost a year and needed about 3 - 4 inches cut off. Pono took me in as a walk-in after I called to check their schedule. A nice young man and very professional. I can say that from now on, I'll get my hair cut at the hairstyles by Noe. “Spacious studio that has stations for about 3-5 stylists. Our stylist was so nice and thorough with my teenage son's haircut. He's super particular and he looked great in time for our photos. We were seen on time and got out on time (yay!). Price was very reasonable. They carry a small assortment of hair products - which was convenient since we were traveling from out of town.“

“Came at 12:30PM. Raced a guy to the signup sheet. He won. He’s done and gone. Haircut girl goes on break. I wait, there’s a woman that works there sitting in one of the chairs. She’s not looking at the signup sheet. I look around the corner and she says "the girl went on a break, she needed a break". She did nothing more than tell me that and told me to come sit in a chair because it’s cooler in there. I guess because they have portable ACs. I’m not sure who this woman is, the greeter? I stay where I am.<br><br>Haircut girl comes back and leaves again and goes in her car. In the meantime another haircut girl takes a customer who arrived after me!? Maybe there was an appointment? I'm in the dark.<br><br>I’m still waiting. Am I invisible? It’s been an hour now and there wasn’t a line until after I showed up. Not the first time I’ve had to wait for an hour here, but the other times there were a few people in front of me. So this is not making sense to me. I’m getting anxious. I have sh!t to do.<br><br>Haircut finally happened. It was good. Prices went up a little, but I’m still paying less than when I lived and had my hair done at a salon in Michigan.<br><br>In general, the place it cool because it’s outside. When they acknowledge you are waiting, it’s better, you feel “seen”. My hair is short so it’s not too difficult and it always comes out just fine. Sometimes the haircut girls talk to you, sometimes they don’t. I don’t care either way. It’s a unique place and I come here nearly every time I get my haircut. I would recommend but with a caveat; expect to wait around an hour whether you’re the next person in line or you have a few folks ahead of you.<br><br>So, I gave a 4* because it's a fine place, but I'd also give a 3* for the hour wait without apology.<br><br>Requested style: Very short hair cut. I show them a photo of me with a very short haircut and they try to replicate.“
